Globecomm Launches Worldwide Two-Way High-Speed Internet Protocol Platform

 

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Feb. 16/Satnews Daily/ — Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:GCOM) announced on Tuesday the launch of a worldwide two-way high-speed Internet Protocol platform utilizing iDirect Technologies satellite-based broadband access solutions.

 

The Globecomm high-speed IP service offering combines iDirect's IP platform, with Globecomm's teleport capabilities and managed network services, which are provided by the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Globecomm Network Services Corporation.

 

Globecomm said governments and industries around the world can utilize this powerful high-speed platform to rapidly deploy new networks, to extend the reach of their current network architecture, or to deploy a satellite-based backup network for their current network.

 

David Hershberg, chairman and CEO, said the company has already deployed managed network solutions for two U.S. Government network requirements from our New York teleport utilizing the iDirect platform and are now excited to deploy the service on a global basis.
