OTTAWA, Oct. 6, 2005/Satnews Daily/ — TalkSwitch, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of innovative telephone systems for small and multi-location businesses, said it has teamed with RAMTelecom to provide a fully-featured, satellite-based VoIP solution to businesses in remote locations.
Remote businesses, like mining operations, have struggled to find ways to keep connected to the outside world while keeping communications costs reasonable. TalkSwitch and RAMTelecom said they have teamed up to provide that solution.
Customer's deploying RAMTelecom's satellite-based telecommunications service can now integrate a TalkSwitch IP PBX as part of their solution. The TalkSwitch gives the customer advanced call handling and control capabilities, and it gives it to them at the jobsite, meaning they don't have to incur expensive long distance charges for routine tasks like checking voicemail.
Jan Scheeren, president and CEO, TalkSwitch said by integrating a TalkSwitch IP PBX with the satellite services provided by RAMTelecom, customers can take control of their telecommunications costs. “Having all of their telephony features on-site, especially voicemail can literally offer thousands of dollars in savings,” he said.
The companies have successfully completed their first field deployment, providing a solution to Canadian Royalties, a Quebec-based mining exploration company with an advanced nickel project in remote northern Quebec. |
