Globecomm Gets Another $2.6-M Contract

 

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Sept. 20, 2005/Satnews Daily/ — Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM) has received a fifth award under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from a U.S. Government customer valued at $2.6 million.

 

David Hershberg, CEO and chairman of Globecomm said the IDIQ contract is resulting in multiple awards for Globecomm. The company provides end-to-end value-added satellite-based communication solutions by leveraging its core satellite ground segment systems and network capabilities, with satellite communication services capabilities.

 

“We see demand for an array of system products and services, which the company provides, as the government accelerates its shift towards purchasing more commercial off the shelf products,” he said. He added Globecomm intends to increase the sales force in this area to capitalize on the trend.
