Globecomm Awarded $1 Million Contract to Provide a Mobile Spectrum Monitoring and Direction Finding System in Afghanistan

 

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2005/Satnews Daily/ ― Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM-News) has been awarded a contract from the Afghan Ministry of Communications valued at approximately $1.0 million to provide a mobile spectrum monitoring and direction finding system in Afghanistan.

 

The system will be utilized across cities, remote areas and high radio traffic locations to identify improper, unlicensed or unauthorized radio stations and to investigate sources of interference. This contract is funded through the World Bank and the project will begin immediately upon issuance of the financial guarantees, according to Globecomm.
