GlobeTel Signs Deal with Japan’s Kashiwabara Token Corp. for Broadband Wireless Network

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 9, 2005/Satnews Daily/ — GlobeTel Communications Corp. (Amex: GTE) announced on Thursday that its subsidiary, Sanswire Networks LLC, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Kashiwabara Token Corporation of Iwakuni City, Japan for the establishment of a terrestrial ground-based wireless broadband and communications system.

Kashiwabara Token holds a controlling interest of a major cell phone system in the Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures as well as the ICAN Cable television system in Japan. The company has more than 2,000 employees at 50 locations throughout Japan.

Bob Jones, president of Sanswire LLC, said Kashiwabara Token already has the cellular and cable infrastructure that would enable Sanswire to immediately to deploy its ground-based broadband wireless system designed to seamlessly integrate with the company’s Stratellite airship. He said the location of Iwakuni City is also a perfect starting point for Japan with U.S. Marines stationed at Iwakuni Marine Corp Air Station, who also will benefit from our wireless broadband system.

A Stratellite, being developed by GlobeTel, is similar to a satellite, but is stationed in the stratosphere rather than in orbit. At an altitude of 10 to 13 miles above the Earth, each Stratellite will have clear line-of-sight communications capability to an entire major metropolitan area as well as being able to provide coverage across major rural areas.

Several Stratellites linked together could cover many hundreds of thousands of square miles. The Stratellite will allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices.
