Latens to Provide Content and Revenue Protection System for Swedish Space

BELFAST, UK, Jan. 25/Satnews Daily/ ¾ Latens Systems will provide a Content & Revenue Protection system to Swedish Space Corp. In addition to reducing both set-up and running costs, Latens said its technology will enable Swedish Space to run individual security systems for each client.

"We wanted to be able to offer a software based Content & Distribution  System that widens our clients' choices and enables them to take  advantage of the greater flexibility of software-based security  solutions," said Conny Jönsson, station manager, Stockholm Teleport,  Swedish Space Corp.

Latens provides TV content businesses with dynamic software-based  revenue protection systems that are more cost-efficient and  flexible than static and hardware-based solutions. It does this by employing new IT security techniques and using the power  of the two-way digital network to provide next generation Conditional Access for broadband and digital cable networks through Secure Software  Modules (SSM) in the set-top-box. The SSM's are monitored and managed across the network and whenever necessary are up-dated or replaced through the network.

"For the content distributors of the future, the decision over content and revenue protection systems is all about security, flexibility and cost. We believe that we are winning customers because, with Latens solutions, high-security, cost-efficiency and flexibility all come in  the same package," said Andy Mathieson, Latens director.
