New Flight Solutions Vice President Named at Lockheed Martin’s Simulation, Training Unit

ORLANDO, FL, Dec. 13/Satnews Daily/ ¾ Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has named Lorraine Martin as vice president of flight solutions for its Simulation, Training & Support (STS) operating unit in Orlando. Martin previously was vice president and deputy of joint command, control and communications systems at Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems & Solutions in Colorado Springs, CO. 

She succeeds Nick Ali, who is retiring from Lockheed Martin after 27 years of service.

Martin joined Lockheed Martin in 1988 after serving as a U.S. Air Force officer. With the company, she initially worked as program manager for computer security contracts in support of the Strategic Defense Initiative and the F-23 program. 

In 1996, Martin was named director, advanced information systems, and in 1998, was appointed director of command and control (C2) technology programs.  She was next promoted to vice president of aerospace information operations, supporting the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Unified Command C2 programs.  In 2003, Martin was named vice president and deputy of joint command, control, and communications systems.

Martin earned a bachelor's degree in computational mathematics from DePauw University, IN, and a master's degree in computer science at Boston University, MA.
