Foxtel Announces New Marketing Appointments 

 

Sydney, Dec. 7/Satnews Daily/ ¾ Foxtel has announced a re-structured Marketing Department and the appointment of a General Manager, Marketing, following last month's decision to merge the Television and Marketing operation into one unit.

Brian Walsh, Executive Director, Television and Marketing, announced the appointments, which will see Foxtel’s Marketing Department divided into General Management & Subscriber Marketing, Brand & Creative and Communications.

Richard Howarth has been appointed to the new role of General Manager, Marketing. Richard joins Foxtel from Austereo, where he was Group Marketing Director, and has an extensive background in marketing and media.

Prior to Austereo, Richard held positions including Group Communications Manager for Coca Cola Australia and National Advertising Manager for Coca Cola Australia, Philippines and Oceania.  Richard's agency experience includes an engagement with DDB Australia as Group Account Director for News Limited, McDonald’s and Dairy Farmers.

 

Richard will supervise the day to day operation of the Marketing unit and assume direct responsibility for Subscriber Management, Advertising Agency Management and Media.

 

In other appointments, Foxtel has promoted its Television Creative Director, Antony Warne to the new role of Brand and Creative Director, Foxtel.

 

Antony’s new role will provide him the opportunity to expand his portfolio across all areas of the Foxtel brand, including managing all creative work on and off air. This includes the development and management of Foxtel 's advertising campaigns.

Rhonda Dawson has also been appointed to the new role of General Manager, Communications.

 

Rhonda has an extensive media background, including over 20 years in senior roles in Television Publicity and executive positions with the Seven Network, Network TEN and The Movie Network.

 

She will assume responsibility for all of Foxtel L’s communication streams including Channels, Internet, the Foxtel Subscriber magazine and Television Publicity. Rhonda will also continue her television role of supervising on air cross channel promos.

Management of Foxtel L's Television division remains unchanged.
