Foxtel Now has 500,000 Digital Subscribers

Sydney, Nov. 24/Satnews Daily/ Foxtel, this week, will pass more than 500,000 Australian homes connected to Foxtel Digital, only 8 months after the launch of the digital service.

Chief Executive Kim Williams said Foxtel Digital has caught on strongly with consumers with its enormous programming choices and unique digital features. “The response has put us ahead of our digital conversion targets,” he said.

Williams said more than 51% of the Foxtel managed subscriber base is now connected to the digital service, compared with 40% at the end of September, and 26% at the end of June. Foxtel managed subscribers exclude wholesale subscribers through Optus and TransACT.

“Our installation rates mean we will pass the 500,000 connected digital subscriber mark this week, including new customers and existing subscribers who have upgraded,” Williams said.

Foxtel has extended until 15 December its pre-Christmas sales drive offering free installation of Foxtel Digital to new and upgrading subscribers. Foxtel said more than 80,000 sales have been achieved from the campaign to-date. The offer applies to standard metropolitan installations on 24 month contracts with direct debit.
