Tandberg Television Hires Execs to Strengthen U.S. Cable and Broadband Business

 

Orlando, Florida, Oct. 27/Satnews Daily/ — David Eng has joined the Tandberg Television staff as Director of Cable Business Development, where he is responsible for expanding the company’s exposure throughout the cable industry in the Americas. As Senior Account Manager, Broadband, David Wright will lend his technical sales expertise in both telco video and cable accounts throughout the United States.

 

Dan Desmet, VP and General Manager of Tandberg said the senior level appointments are designed to raise Tandberg Television’s profile and exposure level in cable and broadband throughout the Americas.

 

“As we continue to establish a stateside reputation in both markets, we need technical sales and business development leaders with the experience to drive our success. We’re pleased to have David Eng and David Wright, each with more than 20 years experience in their areas of expertise, on board to heighten our profile in these key growth industries for Tandberg Television.”

 

Eng comes to Tandberg with an impressive track record in the cable industry. He most recently served as Corporate Vice President, Americas Business, for C-COR of State College, Pennsylvania, directing all product and services sales in North and South America after being promoted from successful senior level sales and marketing positions.

 

Eng also spent 10 years with Scientific-Atlanta, a leader in cable television digital set-top boxes, holding several key sales management positions. Eng will utilize his extensive industry contacts and resources to drive business exposure and expand Tandberg’s reach into the American cable industry. Eng will report directly to Dan Desmet in his new role.

 

Wright has a solid sales background in digital television, having spent seven years with Panasonic and four with Barco Communication Systems of Kennesaw, Georgia. His most recent position was as Regional Sales Manager for Pioneer Electronics of Roswell, Georgia, where he achieved multi-million dollar sales in digital set-top terminals.

 

Wright’s comprehensive knowledge of digital television and experience in high-level corporate sales and new business development will be employed to develop new relationships with cable and telco video operators. Wright will report directly to Al Nunez, Vice President of Sales of Tandberg.
