PALO ALTO, CA/July 26, 2004/Satnews Daily/ -- iTerra Communications, LLC, has appointed Bernard D. Geller as product development manager for integrated broadband RF/microwave and mixed-signal products that are employed in RF/microwave and optical communications applications.

Bernard Geller has more than 35 years of experience in the technical design and development, and market development of a broad array of RF and microwave products,
covering applications ranging from terrestrial communications systems such as cellular/PCS and wireless LAN (WiFi), to radar and satellite communications systems.

Geller comes to iTerra from Herley Industries, where he was an engineering manager of programs to develop products such as high-power pulsed RF sources. He was previously manager of the RF design section of Mitsubishi Electric's Design Center-East, where he established an RF design department and supervised and mentored engineering staff, leading to the development of various gallium arsenide (GaAs)-based Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) power amplifiers and switch products.

He spent seven years in various management positions at Sarnoff Laboratories, where he was instrumental in developing and commercializing many types of components, including LTCC (Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) products. Before joining Sarnoff, he spent 14 years at Comsat Laboratories, where he managed Comsat's microwave circuits department, which lead to advances that allowed COMSAT to remain competitive in the volatile satellite communications marketplace.

"Bernie Geller brings to iTerra a unique set of technical capabilities and market development expertise, and we are extremely pleased he has joined our team," said Peter
Walters, president and CEO of iTerra. "His experience will strongly enhance our efforts to develop products that precisely target the needs of customers in a wide array of
applications."

In addition to his work experience, Mr. Geller holds 17 U.S. patents and more than 6 European patents. He has also been intimately involved with the IEEE for several decades. He co-edited the MTT Transactions Special Issue on Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications published in 2001, has chaired several MTT technical committees, was chairman of the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) Technical Program Committee on Wireless Technology in 1986, organized numerous MTT wireless workshops for the IMS for more than a decade, was chairman of the Baltimore MTT chapter's antennas and propagation section, and has conducted many other IEEE activities as well.

Geller received his BSEE from the Johns Hopkins University, and his MSEE from the University of Maryland. He is based at iTerra's New Jersey Design Center in Somerset,
NJ.
