New York, NY, July 19/Satnews Daily/ -- News Corp.
has announced the appointment of Jeremy Philips to the position of Senior Vice
President of the Office of the Chairman. Based in New York, Mr. Philips will
assist News Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch and Deputy Chief
Operating Officer Lachlan Murdoch with operational and strategic initiatives
across the company.
Philips, 31, will report to the Office of the Chairman, which consists of Rupert
and Lachlan Murdoch, as well as President and Chief Operating Officer Peter
Chernin; Chief Financial Officer David DeVoe; and Group General Counsel Arthur
Siskind. Mr. Philips’s appointment is effective August 16.
Before joining News Corp., Philips worked in New York as Director, Strategic
Investments at Citigroup. Previously, he was Vice-Chairman of ecorp Limited, a
subsidiary of Publishing & Broadcasting Limited in Sydney, and he had earlier
worked in media and telecommunications at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Philips has
held several board positions in Australia, including as chairman of ebay
Australia & New Zealand, as a director of ninemsn, a joint venture between
Publishing and Broadcasting and Microsoft, and as a director of Ticketek,
Australia's leading ticketing business.
Philips is a graduate of the University of New South Wales
and Harvard University. |
